Subject: My Nightly Prayer

I know its sappy but I believe you should pray every night before you go to bed and every morning when you wake up so I figured for anyone who doesnt know it I would share the Marine Wifes Prayer...

Marine Wife's Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Now the evening shadows gather, the lonely night is here.
This day which has been so empty is almost gone.
Oh Dear God, be with my husband who is so far from home.
Help him when the thoughts of his loved ones bring the awful heartache on.
Lord, let him know that with Your ever-lasting love, You are right beside him
With Your loving mercy from above.
Help him with his heartache, with the closeness of a friend, a smile of understanding.
It will lift the burden from his heart.
Let him also be a blessing to one who needs him.
Let him feel the prayers of his loved ones whose thoughts are always with him.
And, Dear God, when the tide has turned against him,
His whole world seems upside down,
Let him see things more clearly.
Show him how to love Thee more dearly.
Let his faith in Thee stay unbroken.
Inspire him with new courage every day so that he will soon be with us.
Make him strong to run the race.

Amen

How to Be a Marine Wife

By eHow Relationships & Family Editor

This isn’t something you were taught in school. You have married a Marine, one of our nation’s finest citizens. But you realize you had no idea what the title of Marine Wife entailed. It’s a job all its own: some say it’s the hardest job in the Marine Corps. Follow these steps to ease the difficulty.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Learn the importance of the Marine Corps. If you are aware of the history, the current responsibilities, and the significance of your husband’s job, you can accept the life that goes along with it a little better. At the very least, you’ll understand why your husband has been led to this job.

Step2
Support your husband in his career. Be understanding when he has to be separated from you. Help him when he needs something for work. This should go both ways in a marriage, but sometimes a wife can feel left out when her husband is also married to the Corps, so it’s an important goal.

Step3
Keep up with his job. Know what rank he is, how long he’s been that rank, his MOS (Military Occupational Specialty), his unit name, his platoon, his company and his superiors. Know the uniforms of the Marine Corps, learn the ranks.

Step4
Ask questions. There are few things a Marine enjoys more than talking about his job.

Step5
Involve yourself in his work as much as possible without overstepping. Try to coordinate your lunch times, so that you can eat together. Go to family day events and special meetings called for the families of the Marines.

Step6
Meet other wives. There is no one else on earth that understands what you are going through better than a fellow Marine Wife. These friendships can be your staple when your husbands are deployed or working state side.

Step7
Ignore the ranking system to which some wives/girlfriends of Marines fall victim. It’s your husbands that have ranks. An officer’s wife can be just as friendly as an enlisted Marine’s wife. An enlisted Marine’s girlfriend can be just as classy as an officer’s wife and vice versa. Don’t allow stereotypes and the rumor mill to dictate who you talk to or with whom you become friends.

Step8
Understand that it’s just as hard on your husband to leave as it is for you to be left. You may have extra baths to give and extra hours helping with your kids’ homework or doing yard work, but he has to miss out on those special moments. Don’t resort to the who’s got it worse game. No one can win.
